Community connections

We have a strong passion and compassion for our 414 neighborhood. Fulfilling the Great Commission begins on our street and expands to our community and then to the world. Each of these ministries is designed to help you overcome the challenges of life in your domestic church (family).

Classes are drawing to a close for the spring, but check back to preview fall 2017 classes.

Wednesday Evening schedule:  (Please note that our Wednesday evening summer schedule starts May 10. Classes will resume in the fall!)

5:30 - Adult Choir (begins Jan. 4)

6:00 - Coffee & Cookies inter-generational dessert fellowship in the Commons

6:30 - All ministries begin (adult, youth, children, preschool)

7:45 - All ministries end

  • divorce care

    You will learn how to face the pain and stress of separation and divorce and move toward rebuilding your life.  The leaders in this group setting have a real concern for those going through a divorce and are examples of the healing and restoration that can occur after the breakup of a marriage. $10 (Scholarships available)

  • grief share

    This friendly group of caring people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You'll gain valuable resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. 

    Class 1 is for those who have lost a loved one or friend.

    Class 2 is for those who have lost a child.

    Both groups meet in Annex 3.

  • Smart Money/Smart Kids followed by

    Parenting with Love and Logic

    Learn how to raise money smart kids in a debt-filled world.

    Parenting with Love and Logic will teach positive parenting solutions for healthy families. 

  • Strength To Love

    Do you have a loved one who has made difficult life decisions?   Do you feel alone as you face that struggle? Find comfort in this caring group of individuals who have walked this path.  This group for men and women will encourage you as you manage hard choices while continuing to love your child and pray them back to wholeness.   • English as a Second Language (ESL)

    Beginning and intermediate English for everyday use will be taught.

  • adult General Session

    This general session study is led by Jason Atchley, Lead Pastor. Topics vary and include Bible study and biblical response to current cultural issues  No Registration Required.

  • Special friends

    Bacon Heights has a long history of providing a caring environment for those with special needs. We remain passionate about making church accessible to them and their families. The Special Friends class at Bacon Heights meets every Sunday morning at 9:15 in the Family Life Center on the North Side. If you would like more information before you visit, please contact Mike Lewis

    You might also be interested in a monthly opportunity for special needs people called "Friends of God Church." This ministry creates a worship and fellowship event for the special needs community and those who love them.  Friends of God Church meets on the first Friday of each month in the gym on the east end of Bacon Heights.  A meal is provided at 5:30 pm and  worship begins at 6:30. PLEASE NOTE: while we do have many caring volunteers, we are not equipped to serve individuals who require supervision.
