She went through the preschool ministry, children’s ministry, youth ministry, and college ministry here and the church is a big part of who she has become!  She found her leadership calling while in the Youth Ministry. Youth group also introduced her to Lone Tree Ranch, a summer camp where she worked for three summers during her undergrad years.  While on camp staff she fell in love with both camp ministry and college ministry. God used both Lone Tree Ranch and the college ministry at Bacon Heights to push her into an "insane amount of spiritual growth" during her undergraduate years at Tech. She wants other college-aged students to learn what being a mathetes, or disciplined followers of a Master, looks like and how to take their faith out of casual Christianity into a real, deep, intentional relationship with their Father.  Karissa earned her BS in Animal Science from Texas Tech University in 2021 and is currently applying to vet school. In the mean time she is working at a vet clinic in Slaton as a small-animal technician.
