  • topical study: The holy spirit

    sammy elliott

    location: worship center

Many things might come to mind when one hears the phrase “The Holy Spirit.”  This topic has brought about much confusion, many questions, and various responses in churches throughout history.  Questions, such as:  What does it meant to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?  What does it mean to be “filled with the Spirit?”  What about the gift of “speaking in tongues?”  Baptists have tended to be hesitant if not outright resistant to the teachings of and acceptance of the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church and the believer.  The book, written by Francis Chan in 2009, entitled “Forgotten God” sums up the typical Baptists’ response to this topic.

This Fall, on Wednesday nights, we will study and look at the Holy Spirit.  Join us as we take a journey through the Bible in discovering the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  Come with your questions.  Come with your Bible.  Come ready to grow.  Come!
